Spring?! : Spring, 2003

Spring was a little unsure about arriving this year. Shortly after the snow at the end of February, we had a few more weather changes... in the course of about a week...

A bit of a drainage problem in the back (this will come up again), but who cares? It's beautiful!

It's hard to tell, but about 40% down from the top, about 20% off from the right is a little spring. Y'see, we are at the bottom of the valley, and apparently all 23000 acres empty into our lot.
Our moat...
...turned into a lake with a little more rain.
This was our feeble attempt at putting some rock down in a stream bed to try to funnel some water away.
Instead, it just pushed the water to the other side of the backyard.
The frontyard planters didn't escape the deluge.

We even dug a trench out to the street. When that didn't work, we called the builder back and he, of course, fixed everything no problem.
