Like most years, Tito and Rachel are going to Chile for Christmas. So we decided to celebrate a couple of weeks early.

Pictures of our new house from December 23, 2002. In spite of the recent snow and other wet weather, it looks like the builders were able to get the drywall up and get some of the other little things up.

Before, during, and after Christmas Eve church service. It was a little dark in the church auditorium so most of those pictures didn't really come out.

Christmas Day festivities. My camera ran out of batteries early in the day, so I didn't get any pictures of my glorious Christmas meal.  >:-(

Got more batteries, but got up to the house quite late. You'll excuse the wealth of sunset shots from within the car, but it was really pretty.

Lots of good new stuff. Cabinets, stucco, bathroom stuff, hallway stuff, more mud and tape inside, doors... it's really happening! :-D

Some finishing is done, the cabinets are stained, and they were painting the inside trim while we were there. We had to choose new brick, since the stuff we had chosen was discontinued. Subsequently, the replacement brick we chose was four weeks on order, so we had to choose another one the next day. :-)

Our church's mens group went to see the Kings play the Devils. It was an excellent game in which the Kings won on a wicked slapshot from the blue line with about a minute left in OT.

A lot of the brick is in on the outside. Toilets are in. Not much else for now...

We took our dog, Deedee, up to a friend's house in Sunnyvale before moving into our house. We decided that two young children in a brand-new house was enough; no need to add the puppy and expect not to completely destroy the house. :-P

We have snow! Actually, it's the second snow in the past week (a lot for up here), but we were a little busy moving during the first snow.

Spring was a little unsure about arriving this year. Shortly after the snow at the end of February, we had a few more weather changes... in the course of about a week...

Don't let the poor quality of the pictures fool you: The Benjamin Gate concert was amazing.

The Fourth of July is a big deal in Bear Valley Springs and Tehachapi. Parades, hot air balloon rides, sidewalk sales, pancake breakfasts, movies in the park, and the requisite fireworks show out at the airport. Good time had by all!
