uncomfortable silences

It's not that I don't WANT to write, really. New house means new work--we moved a bunch of sod out of the front yard today to allow the lake in our back yard to drain properly. (Long story short: our neighbor gave us the pictures of our lot as the duck pond before the house got here.)

We (finally) got a new hire to help me with sysadmin stuff in my day job. What a blessing to have an experienced admin who happens to be a kindred spirit in so many areas!

My moonlighting job has been nigh overwhelming, when combined with the house, the day job, and the requisite golf outings. Things are to the point where we are taking actual business trips, drawing up budgets and forecasting, and otherwise acting like a real business. It's the most fun I think I've ever had.

Life is otherwise good. Supposed to be getting high-speed internet RSN; the VP of technology for the cable company assured me I would be on the list of the first 50 to get the service. :-)

I guess that's it for now. See you in three weeks. :-P
