Some of you may have picked up on the fact that I'm pretty fond of the wonderful young lady I've been dating for just over four months now. It might have been the multiple mentions on my blog (which, at the time, I thought were subtle... until Alan told me that basically every one of my posts was turning into a lovefest!). It might have been the random IMs that surely you've received from me.

In any case, I'm just mad about Vanessa, and last Friday I asked her to marry me.

We were sitting at Chilean food with my kids, praying over our food. When she opened her eyes, the ring was sitting next to her pastel de choclo. I asked her, she said yes (glory be!), and we got down to the more important business at hand - eating. :-D

We've set a date for August 20, 2005. It's going to be a small ceremony and reception, so we apologize if your invitation gets, uh, lost in the mail. ;-) But even if you can't make it, dear readers, I thought it would be nice to share the moment with you. So many of you have stood by me throughout the years, in fun time and torturous times, and this blessed relationship is such a part of your support.
