Damn you, Joel. Were it not for you, I probably would have never dug around half.com looking for music. (I always knew it was there, but I never bothered to really check it out.) Now, I can't help myself. Last night I bought another batch of CDs:
Fallen, Evanescence
Regretfully Yours, Superdrag
Loud and Clear, The OC Supertones
Cowboys From Hell, Pantera
Schubert Dip, EMF
No Code, Pearl Jam
Broken [EP], Nine Inch Nails
The Downward Spiral, NIN
Further Down The Spiral [EP], NIN
Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Red Hot Chili Peppers
All of that for about $56, shipped. That's the great thing about half.com: I can invest a very little bit of money in relatively unknown music (EMF, Superdrag) and if it sucks, I'm out the price of a latte. The other side of it is that I can get a bunch of CDs I've always meant to get (NIN) for about 20% of the original price.
However, at this point, I'm thinking of trying to put a block on half.com, lest I blow any more money.

Posted by: joel on August 30, 2003 10:01 PMNo Code, Broken, TDS, FDtS, Fallen, Blood Sugar...
Those albums are excellent.
Um... I'm assuming you already have:
Pearl Jam - Yield & (and Ten - Vitology... Binaural too)
NIN - PHM (you must), the Fragile?
RHCP - Californication
Joel: I believe it was a conversation with Alan in which he mentioned that you liked half.com. Were it not for that comment, I would not have been so tempted to peruse the wares contained therein.
Ron: I have the following:
Pearl Jam: Ten, Vs., Vitology, Binaural, and a 3-disc set of their last live concert on whatever tour it was where they published every live show.
NIN: PHM only
RHCP: What Hits?! (best-of through like BSSM)
An excellent list, Peter... but you must go back and pick up NIN's "The Fragile." It's quite amazing.
Posted by: jrau on September 1, 2003 7:04 AMhm.... I've never purchased anything at half.com. However, perhaps I should take my own advice that I never gave and give that site a shot. my online CD purchases either come from amazon, or cheap-cds.com
Posted by: joel on September 1, 2003 8:42 AMNow you are cooking with gas!
But you should definitly evaluate Molotov "?Donde jugaran las niņas?", very fun(ny) staff.

Posted by: tdog on September 2, 2003 11:57 AMYou consider EMF's Schubert Dip "relatively unknown"?
You're unbelieveable!
