*sigh*

So I was a little off... it's been over four weeks, nearly to the day, since I've written. The taxes are filed, the backyard is still flooded, and I don't have anything to say. I can't even think of anything worthwhile about which I could rant for a page or two. My high-speed internet still isn't in, so I'm roughin' it on dialup still.

One kinda fun thing: I took my son and his 5th-grade friend to get a movie tonight. We settled on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which my wife and I both want to see as well. Of course, I'm sitting HERE drinking and writing rather than watching it... but I digress. My son and his friend talk about some of the most interesting things. Some excerpts from their conversations:

  • Andrew: "My mom's so weird. She acts like such a teenager."
  • Cody: "The cool thing about Chamber of Secrets is that they finally made a game that's just like the movie and doesn't suck."
  • Cody: "I bet the mystery flavor will taste like vomit." (after Andrew took the last "mystery flavor" Baby Bottle Pop)

And so on. The conversation drifted from Dragonball Z to Cody insisting on how disgusting Scream really was to Playstation 2. They're good kids.

As for that thing in Iraq, I can just say that I'm probably a little more, shall we say, hawkish than most of my cohorts... hehe...

Ah well, the beer is nearly gone and I need to get down to some business... I'd say "good-bye" in some smarmy western Europe language, but I'm boycotting those languages. ;-) Suffice to say... cheerio!
